FAQ

FAQs

What is the filling made of?

The cubes are made of BPA-free plastic and filled with sterilized drinking water. We don't recommend drinking them, but if you've broken down in the Simpson Desert and forgotten to fill your CamelBak, they won’t hurt you.

Are the ice cubes dishwasher safe?

Yes, they are safe to use in the dishwasher, but we recommend simply rinsing with our specially formulated cleaning solution immediately after use. No one likes the smell of fish guts or stale beer!

Is the plastic safe for direct contact with food?

The cubes are made from BPA-free materials and are completely safe for use with food, in drinks, or just to chill packaged items (like beer!).

This is just creating more plastic waste. How is it better for the environment?

Actually, our cubes use around the same amount of plastic required for packaging a similar amount of regular ice you would buy from a servo or supermarket. The difference is our cubes will last many times longer if you re-use them!

How long do they stay frozen?

EverIce cubes last up to 48 hours. This is because they technically stay 'dry,' which reduces the surface area available for contact with warmer things (like the water in your traditionally iced esky). That's science, baby!

How do I clean my ice cubes?

We offer a specially formulated, food-safe cleaning solution that you can use to rinse your cubes between expeditions. [Link to product]

How many times can I reuse them?

EverIce cubes can be reused many, many times without deterioration. How many more times are you going to pay $6 at the servo for single-use ice?

How many cubes are in a bag?

Each reusable bag of EverIce contains 320 cubes. We recommend two bags to fill a large esky (depends on how many six-packs you're taking!).

How long do they take to freeze?

How cold is your freezer?! Seriously though, they are filled with purified drinking water, so they take about the same amount of time to freeze as your Kmart ice cube moulds.

What do they weigh?

Our bags are 5kg each and contain approximately 320 cubes. So each cube is around 25g. I needed a calculator for that, but you might be more used to weighing out bags... 😉

Can I buy in bulk?

Yes, you can. Please use the Contact Us tab and let us know how many you would like.
